Invest in Yourself during Your “Down time”!

For most of us, we don't know what "down time" is at work. That is either because we are making our clients & customers happy, catching back up on work, planning ahead for work or just plain working. In the rare instance we do have "down time" at work, what should we do with it? I say keep working! Now, I don't mean keep working working... After all, you don't have anything work related to do. Wrong!productivity, efficiency, marketing, business, growth, consultant, skills, improvement, how to be better, growing, professional growth, professional

There are wealth of information, skills and knowledge out there that you know very little about. These information and skills can help you reach that professional goal of yours. I for one, read blogs from major consulting firms like The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) & McKinsey & Company  or Marketing & Sales software providers such as HubSpot. I read these blogs for their insights and thought leadership. I enjoy learning how they go about improving business capabilities and make the impact their clients have made on a global scale. I read #marketing & #sales software providers' blogs to learn and better understand the functionality of their software.

As you've inferred, my goal is #business related and for you, it might differ. Moreover, the same principle applies! Instead of socializing on social media platforms or shopping while at work, spend your "down time" at work working. Working to fine tune your skills, working to find ways to be more valuable to your current employer and lastly  working to achieve that professional and personal goal of yours.
